X-COM Chronicle – Entry 40: The Sundered Temple

The Commander put the picture on the wall, but not above the rest. Adam wouldn’t have wanted that. He never saw himself as more than any of us. He never acted like he was better, or more worthy. His curse made him different, but it gave him strength as well. Without it, we wouldn’t even be here right now. 

Without him, there wouldn’t be a wall on which to hang his picture. 

I don’t know what’s coming next, or how we’ll rebuild our civilization. What I do know is that, for a while, I knew humanity’s savior. He was my battle buddy, my friend, my brother. 

I hope we make him proud.
