Bryan Singer won't be collaborating with the writers for Superman Returns and X2: X-men United in the next Superman film.  Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris are reportedly out (by their own choice) of the sequel.

While there have been some rumors around the industry that WB might be going the way of The Incredible Hulk and rebooting the Superman franchise with a fresh take on the Last Son of Krypton, the studio denies such talk and insists this film is going to be a straight sequel with Brandon Routh reprising his role as Clark Kent/Superman.

However, Warner Brothers was quick to reiterate a promise made by Singer last year, that the sequel will see a significant increase in the amount of action of the film, something many fans and reviewers felt was a weakness of Returns.

There's no word yet on what Singer's reaction to this development is, though he's fairly busy filming Valkyrie in Germany.
