According to some dude who e-mailed Ain't It Cool News, Bryan Singer might bring back Terence Stamp as General Zod in his sequel to Superman Returns.

This person has personally observed Bryan Singer at work on VALKYRIE and apparently he has been putting pressure on one of his cast members to return to his star-making role as a villain in Singer's SUPERMAN sequel.

That, of course, would be Terence Stamp and the role would be that of General Zod.

I'm happy to see this become an actual rumor, because anyone who reads my forum posts on this site regularly knows that I irrationally love Superman Returns, and that I like the idea of a Zod comeback so much that I wrote a teaser trailer for it – which you can read after the jump!

BLACK.

FADE IN: The skyline of Metropolis. The camera swoops down through the city.

V/O: "The man of steel has turned back time and stopped World War III with his bare hands."

More camera swooping, down lower and lower …

V/O: "But he has yet to face his greatest enemy …"

The camera swoops lower, this time through a sewer grate.

V/O: "An enemy who knows his every power …"

The camera approaches a stronghold-style door …

V/O: "An enemy he knows from his past …"

The door opens, and the camera swoops into darkness …

V/O: "An enemy who only wants him to do one thing."

With blazing white hair, GENERAL ZOD steps into the light.

ZOD: "Kneel."

The idea being that Zod is still alive and human, but he's become an underground criminal lord.
