What if God Was One of Us: Godus

The Painfully Slow Wheel of Progress

Nothing happens quickly in Godus. From building huts to accumulating belief, this is a game about waiting. That is an honest to god problem when you look at the competition out there.

Attention developers: MODERN GAMERS DON’T LIKE TO WAIT.

Do you remember playing Mass Effect and riding elevators for a few minutes while a level loaded? Wasn’t that just the best? Oh, wait, you FUCKING HATED THAT? Yeah, me too.

Gamers want their actions immediate. In Black and White, you had the option to GOD BUILD a structure so you wouldn’t have to wait for your lazy citizens to get around to it. Why is this not an option in Godus?

There is no level of Call of Duty where you sit and load magazines for two hours before heading off to fight. In Godus, I have had to wait 11 hours for my people to finish building a shrine, and I had to finish that shrine before I could move on to the next area of the map. 11 hours! That’s insane.
