What if God Was One of Us: Godus
Written by: Adam "ManKorn" Korenman, CC2K Video Games Editor
In the beginning, there was nothing. No sound. No life. Then I spake unto the ether and said: “Let there be LIGHT!”
This is not exactly how Godus begins, but you get the idea. From the King of God-Games–Peter Molyneaux–comes the “regenesis” of the genre. Takings its lineage from the original Populous rather than Black and White, Godus aims to place the player into the sandals and robes of an all-powerful creator, leading a tribe of mute puppets from the Stone Age to the near future. Wild ambition is nothing new for the Molyneaux crew, but Godus has a few things going for it that its predecessors did not. But is this the title to resurrect the dying mechanic, or is it just another of Peter’s Fables?
