 5) Breaking Bad

Starring the legendary actor from Malcolm in the Middle, and some kid from the Price is Right

If you’ve never heard of Breaking Bad, then you are a liar or an alien and should be ashamed of yourself. Following the exploits of cancer patient-turned drug baron Walter White, the show took off like a rocket. Every single episode contained powerhouse combinations of action and dialogue, even if twenty-minutes was spent on idle breakfast chatter. The last season absolutely nailed the close, so much so that I am somewhat trepidacious about the prequel series Better Call Saul.

But imagine the series as a GTA-style adventure, with all the oddly worked in stock market replaced by an ebbing and flowing drug market. You would play as a low-level drug dealer entering into the world of Blue Sky. Eventually you meet Walter White, a.k.a. Heisenberg, and begin your descent into darkness. There would be interactions with Mexican cartels, rapid flights from the DEA and more gunplay and explosions than a Michael Bay movie.

I mean, you’re already able to make shots like this one

There would need to be dialogue options during the cut scenes so you could concoct your own terrible lies to cover your meth-making. There would be a whole minigame revolving around the cooking process, or the body-slurry recipe. What’s more, you could implement some of the best parts of GTA V–the heists–into the overall gameplay. Walter White was not above other forms of crime, and neither should you be.

There’s already box-art for the game. Let’s just make it happen, Rockstar.

I suppose, if GTA is already played out, there are other options.
