Is Tetris the best game ever made? That’s not for me to say. However, it is one of the best starter-games I’ve ever seen. As of the most recent Gallup Poll, only three people in the entire world don’t rate Tetris as “excellent.” And yes, you guessed right, Michael Bay is one of them.

Unlike most modern games–that require the mastery of more buttons than a TI-83–Tetris is an easily accesible title for any age, gender or political affiliation. With the maddeningly addictive music, and even better gameplay, the puzzler hooks gamers and doesn’t let go. Whether on a Gameboy, a console, a computer or even the side of a building, Tetris is just simple enough to spark the interest of even the most reluctant partner.

However, success is not guaranteed. I sat down with my lady-type and threw on a little Tetris, hoping it would start to bridge the gap. After only a few rounds lost, she hurled my laptop across the room in frustration. Ironically, as the impact shattered my computer into pieces, the debris rained down into a perfect line and promptly disappeared.
