The Morning Roundup: Yes Man Trailer, New Jason Pics, Sally Jupiter Pin-up, Ebert & Roper Finished?
Written by: Big Ross, CC2K Staff Writer
This morning we’ve got news of Ebert & Roeper’s possible demise, Christian Bale’s arrest, slasher remakes, the trailer for Yes Man, and more.
Bad news for Ebert and Roeper fans. Richard Roeper was unable to reach an agreement with ABC for a contract extension, so he will be leaving the show after August 16th. With Roger Ebert’s health issues keeping him from making appearances on the show, it is likely that the show will cease to exist in its current form. Reportedly the main dispute between Roeper and ABC was due to “ABC wanting to take the show in a more "Entertainment Tonight"-style gossip direction.”
It’s been all over the news, but I’ll report this anyway. Christian Bale was arrested in London on assault allegations reportedly leveled by his mother and sister. He was questioned for 4 hours by British police and released on bail with no formal charges brought against him. Those are the facts, and that’s all I’m going to say about it.
Here’s a couple of new images of Jason from the upcoming Friday the 13th remake:
Speaking of, it seems Jason Voorhees and Mike Myers aren’t the only slashers to be getting a remakes, as the trades have announced that Wesley Strick (Cape Fear, Wolf) has been hired to write the script for a remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street slated to be released on the 25th anniversary of the original, written and directed by Wes Craven.
Hancock director Peter Berg will be helming a new film based on the Hercules myth. Reportedly this will be titled Hercules: The Thracian Wars, an adaptation of Steve Moore's recent five-issue comic of the same name.
A new trailer is out for the Jim Carrey comedy, Yes Man, which you can view below!
Ever wondered what Carla Gugino would look like in the Sallie Jupiter get-up from Watchmen and drawn like a pinup girl from the 1940’s? Well wonder no longer!
