ImageVariety reports
that Showtime has greenlit the series The United States of Tara–a shocker, considering that it's based off of an original idea by Steven Spielberg and written by flava-of-the-month Diablo Cody. Deets:

Project, based on an original idea by Spielberg, revolves around an ordinary-seeming wife and mother who suffers from dissociative identity (aka multiple personality) disorder. Diablo Cody ("Juno") penned the half-hour single-camera comedy. Cody will exec produce and work closely with sitcom vet Alexa Junge, who will be showrunner and exec producer.

"Tara" focuses on how the family — including the main character's husband and two teenage children — copes with her various personalities.

Toni Collette will star. It remains to be seen how many of her multiple personalities will talk on hamburger phones and sprinkle slang-filled pop culture "refs" into her speech.

JoBlo has heard that Brian De Palma will be doing a movie about the Boston Strangler. If the idea of De Palma doing another period serial killer movie gets you excited, please shut up and maybe they'll decide not to make it.

And finally, here's the new teaser poster for Oliver Stone's upcoming W. If the movie's as good as the poster, looks like Speed Racer might have some competition at next year's Razzies.
