The Morning Roundup: New Rian Johnson, New Bruce Willis, New Hitchhiker’s Guide, yet more Bushnell
Written by: Mike Leader, Special to CC2K
This morning we have news of new projects from Bruce Willis and Rian Johnson, as well as book news regarding Candace Bushnell and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (separately, not together!), as well as a preview of the latest Ed Brubaker-penned comic book, Incognito!
Bruce Willis is set to make his directorial debut with Three Stories About Joan, which will also star Kieran Culkin and Owen Wilson.
Rian Johnson will follow The Brothers Bloom with a "time-bending hitmen" film called Looper, which he will script and direct [thanks AICN].
In the world of books… Not content with warping the minds and value systems of women of a certain age and background the world over, Candace Bushnell is now setting her sights firmly on the High School Musical crowd. The Sex and the City author has recently signed a publishing deal with HarperCollins Children's Bray and Bray imprint for two books for young adults featuring Carrie Bradshaw.
Thousands of sci-fi fans have been knocked for six after hearing that erstwhile Artemis Fowl author Eoin Colfer will write a new book in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series. Original author Douglas Adams, geek icon and science-fiction-comedy genius, wrote five instalments in the series, but died in 2001. Adams' widow, Jane Belson, has approved the book, which will be called And Another Thing…, and will be released in October 2009. Let's hope it is better than the tepid 2005 film adaptation.
In the world of music… Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright has died at age 65 . Possibly the unsung hero of the group, his contributions were integral to the best of the band's 1970s work. Here is a video of the track 'The Great Gig in the Sky', which he wrote, from the seminal 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon.

And we also have the new teaser poster for the upcoming Seann William Scott comedy Role Models.
