Written by: Big Ross, CC2K Staff Writer

ImageThis morning we have to inform you of the sad news that George Carlin passed away over the weekend at the age of 71.  On a much lighter note we have new Spirit posters, the official Green Hornet logo, the weekend box office, and more.

With the weekend box office report Get Smart took the top spot, and Mike Myers’ The Love Guru didn’t even crack the top 3:

1. Get Smart               $39,155,000

2. Kung Fu Panda        $21,700,000

3. The Incredible Hulk  $21,557,000

On a sad note, groundbreaking comedian George Carlin has died of heart failure late Sunday night at the age of 71.  In honor of Mr. Carlin may I say,

Shit, Piss, Fuck, Cunt, CockSucker, MotherFucker, and Tits.

Rest in Peace George, you will be missed.

In TV News news, Tom Brokaw will be sitting in the moderator chair on NBC’s Meet the Press for the remainder of the 2008 Presidential Election.

Hey, have you seen the official logo for Seth Rogen’s The Green Hornet?  No?  Well here it is!

Could Russell Crowe be re-teaming with Christian Bale for Ridley Scott’s upcoming Nottingham?  If Scott has his way, it looks like the answer is yes, as reports are out that the director wishes to cast Bale as Robin Hood against Crowe’s role of the Sheriff.

Here’s a couple of new posters for Will Eisner’s The Spirit:
