The Morning Roundup: Box Office Report, New Red Sonja, Quantum of Solace Trailer

ImageTopping this morning's news we have the new trailer for the new Bond film Quantum of Solace, the weekend box office report (though you can probably guess what film won), and several items concerning potential casting choices for upcoming projects.

Wall-E cleaned up at the box office this weekend, with new movie Wanted in second-place.

Helena Bonham Carter is in talks to play a "small but pivotal" role in Terminator Salvation.

Lost star Matthew Fox is in talks to star in the adaptation of the Oni Press comic Billy Smoke, about a hit man who sets out to rid the world of assassins.

Naomi Watts is the latest thespian to join the major motion picture adaptation of King Lear.  She joins Anthony Hopkins, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Keira Knightley.

Robert Rodriguez is planning to remake the film Red Sonja, and his ideal leading lady is the Planet Terror star (and his real-world girlfriend) Rose McGowan.

Guillermo del Toro, who hopes to continue developing a new adaptation of Frankenstein while working on  The Hobbit films, says his first choice for the monster is his frequent collaborator Doug Jones.

Gary Oldman has not only confirmed that he will be in Robert Zemeckis' motion capture adaptation of A Christmas Carol, but that he will be playing the roles of the ghost of Marley, Bob Cratchit, and Tiny Tim.
