Am I the only one who remembers talk of Eddie Murphy retiring? If it meant an end to movies like Meet Dave and Norbit, then it seems like a wonderful idea. Now we have news that a third Nutty Professor film is being planned , and Murphy's involvement is "contingent on the writer, director and other elements." Because, you know, quality is of the utmost importance.

Okay, this next news item carries a
MAJOR SPOILER WARNING!!!!
If you want to totally spoil the ending to Batman R.I.P. read below (note, I've put it in Inviso-Text; highlight the area below to read:
Batman #681, due Nov. 26, wraps up writer Grant Morrison's Batman R.I.P. story line, in which the crimefighter is so shaken by a secret from his past that a new Batman must be found. Bruce Wayne/Batman is not getting killed off in the vein of Superman, simply retiring. What does this mean for the Caped Crusader? One interesting theory being put forth by Obsessed with Film is the following: "One rumor I’ve heard from people who know so much more about comics than I do, is that the whole idea for this Batman R.I.P storyline, is so they can give the Batman character a complete new reboot…because of the work of Christopher Nolan and his billion dollar live action franchise bringing an added interest not just to the character but comics in general, we have been hearing since BATMAN BEGINS that DC were tempted to start again from that very first night in Bruce’s childhood and re-do issue No. 1. but in the fully realistic environment which Nolan has mapped out."
