The Morning Roundup: Bale for President? New Dark Knight Trailer, New Pineapple Express Posters

Written by: Big Ross, CC2K Staff Writer

ImageThis morning we have new posters for The Pineapple Express, Tyler Perry’s The Family that Preys, and The Dark Knight, as well as a (very cool) new trailer for the new Batman film, and news of a new comedy based on Sherlock Holmes (yes, you read that correctly), and more!

Hey, Paul W. S. Anderson (AKA the no-talent Anderson) wants to make another Resident Evil movie, telling MTV that “If we could find a good ‘Resident Evil 4’ to make, then we would do it… But I wouldn’t just do it for the sake of it, that’s for sure.”

The trades reported that Tom Cruise is working to recruit Phillip Noyce (Clear & Present Danger, The Quiet American) to direct his planned CIA-action-thriller Edwin A. Salt.  I was going to make a joke about how the two previous directors attached to this have left due to Cruise being a nutjob, but that would be in poor taste.

Christian Bale is becoming highly sought after (and for good reason).  In addition to taking on the role of John Connor in Terminator Salvation, he is being approached to replace Tom Cruise in The 28th Amendment, which would put him in the rile of the President of the United States who discovers a secret cabal is running the country.  If Bale accepts he would join director Phillip Noyce and Denzel Washington.

There’s a new trailer for The Dark Knight out (I know, I know – the marketing machine just won’t stop), but this might be the best trailer I’ve seen for this movie (or any in recent memory, actually).

Get this, Sacha Baron Cohen, Will Ferrell and Judd Apatow are re-teaming on an untitled Sherlock Holmes comedy for Sony Pictures, in which Cohen would play Holmes and Ferrell Watson.  Apatow will produce.

We’ve got a couple of new posters in our gallery from The Dark Knight, The Pineapple Express, and Tyler Perry’s The Family that Preys.  Click on the thumbnails to enlarge!
