9)  Up Close and Personal, Battlefield 3

Pretty much every FPS has some manner of melee attack. Duke had his trusty boots, Master Chief used a rifle butt, and Gordon Freeman was aces with a crowbar. Usually, if you were taken down in a personal way during a multiplayer match, your crumpled form pinwheeled away from the attack like a ballerina and you respawned shortly after. Not so in Battlefield 3. 

Imagine laying prone on a hilltop, your eye pressed into the padded scope of your customized rifle. You’re about to pop the top off an enemy soldier when suddenly:

How AWFUL is that? No just the sensation of being torn from your task and shanked, but the involuntary twitch as your heart sprays out its last drop of life-giving blood. And if you think it’s bad to receive, try dishing it out.

They say you shouldn’t look into someone’s eyes when you murder them, or they’ll haunt you for the rest of your days.
