Ugh. It seems Hollywood keeps going back to the video game well looking for new material to butcher, I mean, adapt to the big screen. This time it’s the popular martial arts fighting game, Tekken that is getting the treatment.

Dwight Little has been announced as director for the project. His credits include: Halloween 4, Marked for Death, Free Willy 2, and Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid. The film’s screenplay was penned by Alan McElroy (Spawn, Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever, The Marine).

What does the combined resume of these to men mean? The answer after the jump.
It means this movie is most likely going to suck balls. Of course, it might have done that anyway, even if Frank Darabont were writing the script and Peter Jackson directing.
I’m not that familiar with Tekken, but I’m assuming it’s fairly similar to Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter. There’s a tournament. The winner gets some kind of prize. Fighters from around the world (each with a different motive for entering) come and beat the holy hell out of each other.

Hmmm…I guess Little and McElroy aren’t bad choices afterall, but this will still probably suck.
