SIM-plified: A Look at What’s Good, Bad, and Missing in The Sims 4

Build a Better Home
My absolute favorite part of any Sim adventure was building a new home. The models on sale are passable, and allow for you to quickly lay down a bachelor pad, but that’s not what simulated life is about. You need roots in the community, and that only comes from creating your dream home from the ground up. Thankfully, this is one area in which The Sims 4 excels.
No fooling here.
You can drop fully-formed rooms into your house, stretch walls and shift furniture with ease, and even raise up foundations without scrapping all your hard work. The tools are deep and intuitive, allowing for an incredible amount of creativity. Suffice to say, this is the one area where you can really show off your creativity.
However, no positive is without its negative. EA has taken away terraforming, meaning your yard is going to be as flat and lifeless as Ke$ha doing a capella. And the removal of pools is just a joke. How can you not allow swimming pools? How am I supposed to murder a whole party’s worth of Sims in one go?
