Ray Park, one of the great physical performers working in movies today, has been cast as Snake Eyes in Stephen Sommers’ upcoming movie G.I. Joe.
For those of you out there who are younger than 25 or so, Snake Eyes was one of the original Joe crew. He never revealed his identity. He was a complete badass. He was romantically involved with Scarlett.

Park has made a name for himself by being a fantastic athlete and martial arts performer. He's pretty much the physical embodiment of what a hack George Lucas is. Most of us subconsciously gave authorial credit for the look of the Millennium Falcon to Lucas, when one of his talented designers actually did the work.
The same goes for Park. We all loved Darth Maul – the one non-abominable part of The Phantom Menace – but Lucas had nothing to do with it. One of his designers conjured up Maul’s memorable look, and Park himself brought his formidable background in martial arts to bear on his role.
