Pumpkins in Video Games

Overlord
If you’ve never had a chance to play Overlord, then head over to Steam now and pick up a copy. While not the best “be the badguy” game ever made, it was inventive and funny and introduced a unique gameplay style that has been imitated often ever since.
As the titular Overlord, you ruled a broken dominion of evil, having been slain long ago by a group of heroes (each taking after a popular archetype). With the help of your multicolored minions, you waged a steady campaign against those who brought you down.
Pumpkins appear early in the game in their natural form, but provide a unique bonus. As destruction is clearly the name of the game, you are ordered to send your minions into the patch to make pie out of the pumpkins, only to watch your creatures do something damned ingenious.
Donning the jack-o-lanterns like armor, your minions raise their combat ability and cuteness at the same time.
Pumpkins may be a hotly debated topic at the moment, what with Starbucks admitting that a single PSL has the sugar equivalent of eating a wedding cake solo, but their presence in gaming cannot be denied. Love them or hate them, the great gourd isn’t going anywhere.
