One of the gems of L.A.'s entertainment scene is a club called Largo over on Fairfax, right across from Canter's. For the insanely low price of $15 (plus an A-OK dinner), you can see singer-songwriter Michael Penn, but the real bonus (for me, anyway) was getting to see stand-up comic Patton Oswalt, who just landed a pilot for HBO.
The new show is called Intelligence, and Oswalt stars in it with Bradley Cooper of Alias fame. The show's being pitched as a workplace comedy about a couple of covert operatives who go undercover as civil servants.
It remains to be seen whether Oswalt will be able to riff on the minutiae of fast food like he does in his stand-up routines. Here are his thoughts on the KFC Famous Bowl, or as he describes it, "The entire left-hand side of their menu, shoved into a bowl."
Hang around after the jump to see Oswalt in action.

Great stuff, but I prefer his riff on Yoshinoya Beef Bowl, a low-end fast food dive that, in Oswalt's words, smells like someone "put out a grease fire with asparagus pee."
