Is Ledger Back in the Saddle for a Brokeback Sequel?

Ang Lee's acclaimed and award-winning Brokeback Mountain appears to be set for a sequel, and at least one of the stars may be returning.
While the film ended with the death of Jake Gyllenhaal's Jack Twist character, Heath Ledger's Ennis Del Mar survived, and the actor is in talks to reprise the role in a sequel that, according to an insider "will follow the nasty process of being openly gay in 1963 Wyoming, Ennis will finally come out of the closet."
Now, I've never seen Brokeback Mountain, but Wikipedia's plot summary gives me the impression that while Jack lives a more openly gay lifestyle, Ennis vigorously hides his sexual orientation out of fear for his own personal safety.
Will the sequel rewrite the character's history? Will Ang Lee also return to helm the sequel? Only time will tell.
