Overload the server with so much information that it slows or overloads. In the past year, there are an average of 28 DoS attacks per hour. They often target banks or business websites, but have frequently been used against gaming servers. XBOX Live reported a similar attack this month, and Lizard Squad claimed responsibility as well.
