What do you get when two of the hottest men alive team up for a movie?  If it's George Clooney and Brad Pitt, you get high-stakes shenanigans in Las Vegas such as those seen in Ocean's 11 and 13.  If it's George Clooney and Leonardo Dicaprio,  you get  a political thriller in the form of Farragut North.  At least, it's possible.

Both stars are in discussions to collaborate on the thriller based on an upcoming Broadway play that is, get this, loosely based on Howard Dean's 2004 campaign for president, and is written by Beau Willimon, who worked for Dean during his campaign.

The title Farragut North (for you non-DC natives) refers to the Metro station located near the offices of quite a few lobbyists, and the story follows a young, idealistic (read: naive) communications director  working for an inspiring, unorthodox (read: fictional) candidate.  Since this is a thriller and not a feel-good story, chances are they don't win.  In fact, it seems the aspiring public servant's career is done in by sinister handlers of their political opponents (read: Republicans).

Clooney is in talk to direct and co-produce, and DiCaprio is in talks to star and co-produce.  No word yet on if this movie will screen in red states.
