What do you get when you combine a mediocre comic actor with the most drugged out kids' television creators of all time? Will Ferrell in Land of the Lost, of course!
Universal Studios, fresh off the overwhelming success of the $160 million Evan Almighty, has greenlit this $100 million dollar adaptation, about a disgraced paleontologist and crew who somehow find themselves in a world where dinosaurs still roam the land…along with monkey people and 'sleestaks,' of course.
While experts have yet to determine where the money will go in this film, it is widely believed that the lion's share will go to special effects, in order to match the stellar production values found in the original series:

Ferrell has been attached to this project for years, and the announcement that it is going forward effectively removes his name from any other pre-strike projects.
With the launching of Lost, Sid and Marty Krofft are now looking forward to getting their other properties off the ground. Given the modern movie market's current love affair with horror movies, this reporter fully expects to hear one day soon of a feature length version of the Krofft's scariest project ever: the Donny and Marie Show.
