A former nemesis of Sydney Bristow has joined the cast of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek: Clifton Collins Jr. He'll play one of villain Eric Bana's henchmen.

Collins played Javier Perez on a few episodes of Alias in season three. His other credits include Traffic, Capote and Babel.

Variety also confirmed the weird casting of Chris Hemsworth as Capt. Kirk's father. We noted that Hemsworth is barely three years the senior of Chris Pine, who's playing Kirk.

Side note: When I read Variety's headline, I totally thought for a second that Stephen Collins had been cast in this movie. I've always liked Collins' performance in the much maligned Star Trek: The Motion Picture, and I think he'd make a great addition to this project.
