 Aliens have arrived, and they are not coming in peace.

XCOM has always been one of those games I passed by, thinking it was too esoteric for me. I liked strategy, but only if it was in real time. On a whim, though, I checked out the demo for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and I will never look back. 

The story may be somewhat cookie cutter, but the gameplay is addictive and crazy fun. This is the kind of game that starts around noon and finished at three in the morning. You will care for your soldiers more than any other game, cherishing their victories and cursing their deaths. 

The additions of Enemy Within make the game even more creative, with body augmentation and mechanical integration turning your soldiers into superheroes.
