The Radio Hearts :: Nothing At All

 Okay, so something I am sure that you guys don’t know about me is that I have a soft spot for 50s/60s brit pop. Love it. I’m not a connoisseur of any capacity, but when it comes on, I always think, “Why don’t I ever go deeper into this style”. I think it always circles back to the beginning of New York punk, or really pre-punk, early New York Dolls, MC5, Velvet Underground all share that psychedelic brit pop undertone to their burgeoning experiments that eventually became punk rock. This is the place in punk rock where the Radio Hearts have found their sound.

So The Radio Hearts reached out to me and they had that classic sound. The clean drum beats, strumming guitars, and melodic vocals, yet with a bit of distortion to give the album a raw feeling. Nothing At All is a four song EP that is simply a ton of fun to listen to. It feels like if the Buzzcocks, The Kinks, the Ramones, and The Troggs had a music baby. And their attitude is so nonchalant that it borders on snobby, like in an awesome way. While all of these tracks are awesome, my favorite is the title track, Nothing At All. Nothing At All harkens back to the early New York punk style and attitude, it is experimental, fresh, and interesting, yet never loses its hooks. This track will get the crowd singing along. And it primes you for the rest of the album. This is one you will be hitting repeat on.
